Charging your students
What you need to know when you sell with Niceplace.
This is a translation. If it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.
01 How it works
From Niceplace you create payment links, payment plans and subscriptions. When a student pays, the charge is made with your own account at the provider you connected: Stripe, Mercado Pago or PayPal. You can also accept bank transfers and approve the receipts from your dashboard.
Niceplace only provides the technology: it builds the payment page, records the result, grants access to the course once the payment is confirmed and collects the upcoming payments on the agreed dates.
02 Who the seller is
You are. The sale is a contract between you and your student. Niceplace is not a seller, payment intermediary or collection agent, and does not receive or hold the money from your sales. That is why we charge no commission on them.
03 Your responsibilities
- Show the final price, the currency, the number of payments and what the purchase includes before the student pays.
- Publish your refund policy and honor it, together with the rights the law gives your buyers.
- Issue the invoices or receipts that apply to you and pay your taxes.
- Handle complaints and chargebacks. Niceplace gives you the payment history so you can answer them.
- Follow your payment provider's terms. If it suspends your account, Niceplace cannot charge on your behalf.
04 Payment plans and subscriptions
When you sell with a payment plan or by subscription, the student authorizes future charges to their payment method. Niceplace runs them on the agreed dates and notifies both the student and you. If a charge fails, we apply the retries and grace period you configured, and then we may pause the student's access to the course according to your rules.
05 Payment data
Card details are received and protected directly by your payment provider. Niceplace stores the status, amount, date and reference of each payment to show you your history. Your payment account keys are stored encrypted.
